• Speed?

• Strike of the Ball?

In truth, you need to become proficient in all aspects to become a great putter.
But for most players here is the optimal priority order:

A Winning Combination

PACEPUTT™ combines both pace & hole entry point training together to work in harmony. Regular use will help to effortlessly identify and execute both disciplines, ensuring a game-changing improvement in your putting performance.

Pace Training:

Uncover the art of precision in putting by quickly mastering the essential skill of determining the perfect pace for each putt. Without the right pace, accurate green reading becomes elusive, and distance control falters, often resulting in frustrating three-putts.

Hole Entry Point Training:

Elevate your putting prowess by understanding the optimal entry point for the ball on a perfectly executed putt. Once you've honed the ability to recognize the ideal pace, PACEPUTT™ seamlessly guides you to pinpoint the exact spot for a successful hole entry.

Pace of the day:

Hopefully, the green staff have done a good job and achieved similar playing conditions for both the course and the practice green! This provides a great opportunity to get your pace for the day dialed in.

Going through the various putting drills will give you the confidence that you already know the correct speed of the greens and boost your confidence on those short putts, getting your round off to a great start.

How PACEPUTT™ works

Watch the full details video guide & read more below to get the best out of your PACEPUTT™ training experience.

Setting Up

Select a straight putt at a distance slightly longer than you are confident of holing (usually around four feet) and mark the position.

Hit some putts to get a feel for the putt and observe the pace of each putt.
Don't worry if you are unsure of the correct pace as all will become clear in the following steps.

Don't worry if you miss a few at this stage as that's why we're here, to learn how to hole more putts!

Next, go behind the hole and identify a distance that you are confident of holing should you miss and have a return putt.

You can hit a putt just to confirm that you have selected a comfortable distance.

Mark the distance with tee pegs or something similar.

Now place the PACEPUTT™ in the hole in line with the putt you have chosen and proceed to step two.

Using The PACEPUTT™

Hit a number of putts through the PACEPUTT™ until you can consistently achieve the distance past the hole that you have chosen.

Don’t worry if you hit the gates or completely miss at this stage, keep going until you get the ball across the bridge at the correct pace.

Remove the bridge and proceed to step three.

Get The Right Pace

With the bridge removed, hit putts at the exact same pace as when the bridge was in place.

Focus primarily on pace rather than line and continue until you are confident that you have the correct pace.

Remove the PACEPUTT™ and move on to step four

Making Progress

With the PACEPUTT™ removed, hit some putts again maintaining the same pace as when the bridge was in place.

You will now be striking putts at the optimal speed to achieve a consistent roll which helps to negate any imperfections in the putting surface.

Repeat steps one to four until you have familiarised yourself with how the PACEPUTT works and are holing more putts.

Next, it’s time to move on to the drills section.

PACEPUTT™ Drills

Practice these drills & watch your stroke count fall.

Drill One – Breaking Putts:

Select a breaking putt and mark the position of the ball.

Place the PACEPUTT™ in the hole and rotate the level until the green arrow is pointing down the fall line.
For more details on the fall line click here.

Now you know the fall line, rotate the PACEPUTT™ with the entry point aimed at your best estimate.
This can be adjusted after each putt until correct.

Place the level next to the hole to represent the new aim point allowing for the amount of break.
Again, this can be adjusted as you dial in on the correct amount of break.

Please remember that every putt is actually straight and its only gravity that makes the ball turn.
(Although conditions such as the grain of the green and wind can also have an effect.)

Hit some putts to assess whether you have selected to correct amount of break and adjust accordingly.

As you progress the number of adjustments that you need to make will decrease.

Drill Two – Varied Lengths:

Set a number of balls up in a straight line at increasing distances.

Mark the position of each ball for repeatability.

Place the PACEPUTT™ in the hole with the bridge in and mark your confident distance past the hole.

The goal is hit all the putts in order whilst maintaining the same distance past the hole.

As your putting progresses, you can increase the length of the longest putt, but please bear in mind that even the very best in the World only hole 50% from eight feet!

Drill Three – Entry Point:

Place the PACEPUTT™ in the hole in a random position.

Move the ball in a position until you think you have identified the correct entry point.

Repeat this drill from varying distances and PACEPUTT™ placements.

Over time you will learn how to recognise the entry point on any given putt.

Drill Four – Perfect Pace:

To perform this drill, mark out your confident hole out distance on both sides of the hole.

The goal is to be able to hit putts the correct distance past the hole as many times as possible.

This drill is ideal for all putts including side hill and up and downhill putts.

How to Identify
the fall line

What is the fall line?

The fall line is a straight line that represents the exact direction of the slope at the hole of a given putt.

The Importance Of Pace

• To putt successfully, you not only need to read the slope on the green accurately but also the correct pace.

• Even an accurate green read without the correct pace is a sure way to guarantee a missed putt.

• Not enough pace will miss on the low side and too much pace will miss on the high side.

• Striking putts at the maximum pace for a given distance will give the optimal chance of producing the required “end over end” roll on the ball.

• The better the roll, higher the chance the ball will stick to the desired line with the ball being less vulnerable to any imperfections on the putting surface.

• PACEPUTT™ is designed to train putting pace and line, feedback has also shown a significant subconscious improvement to start line and stroke path.

• The optimum distance past the hole is greater than you think.

• There's plenty of room between the PACEPUTT™ gates, If the ball goes between the gates it will go in the hole.

• As your confidence grows, the distance past the hole will also increase. You will no longer fear the two footer!

• Finally, remember the old adage “never up, never in”!

Testimonials

What our customers are saying,
from PGA Tour Professionals to average golfers:

“ It's pretty easy to see that PACEPUTT™ focuses on the most important part of putting, which is pace. Hence the name. The pace will determine the line, if you learn to control your pace – It teaches you green reading & takes your putting skills to a higher level. There's no question of that! This is possibly the best investment you can make to improve your putting. ”

PGA Professional

Spencer Edwards, UK

“ I have noticed major improvement with my pace around the greens after just one week of use of this training aid. It’s sleek design and instant feedback has been something that I have really enjoyed about using PACEPUTT™ ”

Golf Handicap: +2.1

Haney Golf, US

“ I consider putting the strongest part of my game. However, using PACEPUTT™ has enhanced my feel and improved my visualisation of where the ball needs to drop on heavily breaking putts. Highly recommended and thank you for getting this little gem to market. ”

Golf Handicap: 5.2

Gaz Rae, UK

“ This product changes your putting mindset and enables you to get confident in putting through the hole rather than rolling the ball up to the hole. As an amateur I have a fear factor when putting and naturally leave putts short. PACEPUTT™ has helped me be more aggressive with my putting and now I can be more confident with those putts I need to make. ”

Golf Handicap: 13.4

Frequently Asked Questions

This product is aimed at all levels of golfer. High handicappers can lose lots of shots on the greens. By using the PACEPUTT™ before your round and getting the feel for the pace of the day it will help to reduce three-putts which in turn reduces scores and Handicaps.

This is not a gimmick the PACEPUTT™ has been tested with professionals and amateurs alike, both levels of golfer have seen significant improvement on the greens.

The main body has been designed to fit in a standard golf hole where the cup is 20mm below the surface. It should be noted that sometimes the greenkeeper's don't make the cups on the practice greens to the correct standard but have tried to accommodate for this.

PACEPUTT™ is not for use on indoor putting mats.

Yes, most definitely by using the PACEPUTT™ before teeing off you already have an advantage on the first green by knowing the pace of the day whilst your partners may take two to three holes to get a feeling of the greens pace.

PACEPUTT™ is perfect for players that travel from course to course with differing green speeds. Using the PACEPUTT™ before your round you will make the adjustments required on the practice green rather than on the first green on the course where each putt matters.

PACEPUTT™ has been designed to be easy to set up and only takes seconds to start using on the green.

The feedback when practising with the PACEPUTT™ has shown that improvements to start line pace and stroke are instant. Just getting past the hole rather than leaving short or in the jaws will reduce your scores straight away.
